Dr Heather King is a seasoned mining executive with nearly 30 years of experience driving growth, technical excellence, and strategic vision across the global mining sector. A trained economic geologist with deep expertise in production geology, Mineral Resource management, and geostatistics, she is recognized for her rare ability to bridge rigorous technical insight with strong commercial and strategic leadership.

Throughout her career, Dr King has led high-impact business development initiatives, strengthened investment decision-making, and aligned exploration and mining strategies with long-term corporate growth objectives. Her technical specializations include Mineral Resource and geological model auditing, due diligence evaluations, and strategic project planning. She has worked across a broad suite of commodities, including copper, gold, PGMs, chromite, and base metals, bringing a depth of experience that spans the full mining value chain.

With 18 years in senior leadership and Subject Matter Expert roles, and a decade of hands-on production experience, Dr King has significantly shaped technical standards and operational best practice within the industry. Her career began at AngloGold Ashanti as a Management Trainee in production geology, advancing into Mineral Resource modelling roles that supported short, medium, and long-term planning. She later served as Senior Geostatistician at Gold Fields Ltd, before leading Mineral Resource departments across multiple geoscience consultancies. She progressed to Head of Geology and Executive Head of Growth and Development and now serves as Director of Exploration Africa for the Axiom Exploration Group.

Dr King holds an M.Sc. and PhD in Economic Geology, along with a Geostatistics Engineering Diploma earned cum laude.
