Amir Hassanzadeh Gondezli is a geologist and petroleum engineer with over 20 years of experience spanning oil and gas development, mineral exploration, and energy transition–related projects. He holds a B.Sc. in Geology (2002) and an M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering (2016), with graduate research focused on geomechanical modeling, wellbore stability, and subsurface stress analysis.
Throughout his career, Amir has held progressively senior technical roles including Mud Logger, Wellsite Geologist, Senior Geologist, Project/Exploration Geologist, and Petroleum Engineer. His background covers wellsite operations, geological and petrophysical interpretation, geomechanics, reservoir and geological modeling, and integrated exploration workflows across sedimentary basin and hard-rock environments.
Since joining Axiom Exploration Group in 2020, Amir has worked as an Exploration Geologist, contributing to the advancement of VMS, gold, lithium, and uranium projects through geological mapping, data integration, target generation, and drill program support. More recently, he has been actively involved with Axiom’s Energy Division, supporting business development and market research for oil and gas, CCUS, EOR, hydrogen, helium exploration, and well abandonment projects in Canada and internationally. His role bridges technical evaluation with strategic project development and client engagement.
Amir brings a multidisciplinary, data-driven approach to exploration and subsurface evaluation, with a strong emphasis on technical rigor, risk assessment, operational efficiency, and health and safety. He is committed to responsible resource development and continuous improvement through the application of emerging technologies and geoscientific innovation.
Outside of work, Amir enjoys playing and watching soccer, fishing, listening to music, staying current with technical literature, and exploring new developments in geoscience and energy technologies.
