Seeking multiple (4-6), student scientists, in areas ranging from geological, geophysics, geomatics, earth sciences, and energy to join our team for various assignments with ongoing projects across western Canada / North America.
Reporting to Axiom’s on-site Project Managers and Vice Presidents, you will provide office and remote field support for projects across all of Axiom’s divisions. This unique opportunity will allow you to explore the various sectors of the natural resources industries through exposure to Axiom Exploration, Axiom Energy Services, Axiom Geophysics and Remote Sensing, Axiom Applied Analytics, and Axiom Environment. You will have the chance to work alongside experienced professionals in their various fields and gain valuable work experience along the way.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with a variety of geological activities at both the deposit-scale and regional-scale including surficial outcrop sampling programs, geological mapping, and prospecting
- Assist ground, UAV and airborne survey teams in the field
- To provide on-site field support of exploration and delineation drilling programs
- Data compilation / data entry for geological, geophysical, and geochemical datasets
- Sampling and monitoring activities alongside environmental scientists related to environmental impact assessments, contaminated sites, and reclamation.

Requirements:
- Minimum education level: You will be entering your 3rd or 4th year as a university student in geology, Biology, sustainability or earth sciences (or a related science) at an accredited post-secondary institution, returning to full-time studies after the work term (Eligible for registration with a regulated body such as APEGS / APEGA / APEGM)
- Clear indication of the length of work term for which you are available
- Working knowledge of geology, geochemistry, and geophysical surveys
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and strong analytical / organizational skills are fundamental
- Professionally fluent in written and spoken English (ILR Level 4-5 or CLB Level 10-12)
- Must be in good physical condition and willing to comply with all project health and safety requirements, including any site-specific certifications and / or drug testing requirements
- Ability to frequently lift, carry and push 50 lbs
- Ability to frequently reach below and at-shoulder level
- Collaboration skills that enable you to build strong, positive relationships in culturally diverse environments
- Residents of Saskatchewan preferred
- Successful completion of a recognized First Aid training safety course, certification must be current and not due to expire for the anticipated duration of the project
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Previous work experience in mineral exploration, mining, geophysics, geomatics, surveying, GIS or wellsite geology considered an asset
