The Geologist – Africa role will support the planning, execution, interpretation, and reporting of mineral exploration programs across Africa. This role is suited to a technically strong exploration geologist who is comfortable working in multidisciplinary project environments and contributing to high-quality geological outputs for clients.

The position requires practical exploration experience, strong data and interpretation skills, and the ability to support field programs, desktop studies, reporting, and geological modelling. The successful candidate will work closely with senior geologists, project managers, geophysicists, GIS specialists, and technical teams to help deliver defensible, decision-ready exploration results.

Responsibilities

1. Exploration Program Support & Delivery

  • Support the planning and execution of exploration programs, including fieldwork, data collection, mapping, sampling, drilling support, and technical reporting.
  • Assist with project schedules, field logistics, technical inputs, and client deliverables.
  • Contribute to safe, efficient, and high-quality field program execution.
  • Support compliance with applicable exploration, data management, and reporting standards, including JORC, NI 43-101, and S-K 1300 where relevant.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geological, geophysical, geochemical, GIS, and remote sensing data into practical exploration interpretations.

2. Geological Interpretation & Reporting

  • Prepare maps, figures, sections, summaries, and technical inputs for exploration reports, proposals, presentations, and client deliverables.
  • Support geological interpretation, target generation, prospectivity reviews, and exploration planning.
  • Assist with the review and compilation of historical exploration data.
  • Contribute to clear, well-supported technical writing that communicates exploration results, risks, opportunities, and recommendations.

3. Data Management, QA/QC & Modelling

  • Support geological data collection, validation, organization, and QA/QC processes.
  • Assist with geological modelling and interpretation using tools such as Leapfrog, QGIS, and related geoscience software.
  • Maintain accurate geological databases, mapping files, drillhole data, sample records, and supporting project documentation.
  • Help ensure exploration outputs are organized, traceable, and suitable for future technical review, Mineral Resource estimation support, and decision-making.

4. Field & Multidisciplinary Collaboration

  • Participate in field-based exploration activities across a range of commodities, deposit types, and jurisdictions.
  • Work collaboratively with geologists, geophysicists, GIS and data specialists, environmental teams, and project managers.
  • Support communication between field teams, technical leads, and clients.
  • Contribute to a professional, safety-conscious, and solutions-focused project environment.

5. Proposal & Business Development Support

  • Provide technical input to proposals, scopes of work, desktop reviews, and exploration program designs.
  • Assist senior team members with background research, data compilation, technical positioning, and cost inputs.
  • Support the development of client-ready materials by contributing geological knowledge, maps, figures, and concise technical summaries.
