The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly experienced Vice President of Finance to join our executive leadership team. This role is a developmental position designed to work closely with the CFO in shaping financial policies, optimizing opportunities, and guiding the company’s financial direction.
Importantly, this position offers a clear succession path to the CFO role, which is currently held on a contract basis. For the right candidate, this represents a unique opportunity to transition into the company’s top financial leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the CFO in developing and implementing corporate financial strategy.
- Provide executive oversight of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
- Lead the evaluation of financial risks, opportunities, and capital structuring for exploration projects.
- Oversee reporting and compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
- Support M&A activity, joint ventures, and project financing opportunities.
- Strengthen relationships with financial institutions, auditors, and external stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture by maximizing the talent pool.
- Collaborate with operational and project leaders to align financial insights with business decisions.
Qualifications
- CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional designation preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, ideally with exposure to project-based consulting or exploration industries.
- Prior experience with enterprise software or management information systems is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Proven experience in corporate finance, treasury, and strategic planning.
- Strong understanding of Canadian and international financial regulations.
- Demonstrated success in executive-level communication and leadership.
- Ability to think strategically while remaining hands-on in execution.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
